Mechanics for Africa, Ndola, Zambia

Charlie and Sharonne Watt have given their lives to this vision. They offer youngsters the opportunity to train as motor vehicle mechanics and they complete the full City and Guilds examinations. In December 2008 the students sat for their City & Guilds exams and a total of 122 papers were sent back to C&G in London to be marked. The results were 13 passes 45 credits 64 distinctions and NO FAILS! What a joy this must have been for Charlie and Sharonne and all the members of staff. To gain these results means much hard work by the students and total dedication from the staff to the subjects taught in the classroom. Alongside the technical training the students receive Instruction in life skills encompassing HIV/Aids, personal welfare. On completion of the course each student is presented with a full motor mechanics kit provided by TWAM. Everywhere in Zambia advertising hoardings are imploring people to 'Do business the corruption free way' and the students that Mechanics for Africa produce are a fine example to others in the motor vehicle trade.
